Job summary

Twin Cities Orthopedics, part of Infinite Health Collaborative (i-Health), is seeking a Physician Assistant to provide clinical care in our clinic and assist in surgical settings across Blaine, Brooklyn Park & Coon Rapids locations.

The PA will work under physician supervision, perform patient evaluations, order tests, participate in procedures, and contribute to patient care plans while ensuring HIPAA compliance and high-quality service.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• NCCPA certification.
• Minnesota Board of Medical Practice registration/license.
• DEA registration.

Responsibilities

• Assist physician in the clinic by preparing patients and collecting data.
• Assist surgeon in operating room with planning and procedure support.
• Perform splinting, casting, suturing and wound care.
• Apply and change casts and dressings.
• Record patient progress and assist in care plans.
• Consult with patients for casting/dressing/bracing.
• Rounding and on-call as required by supervising physician.
• Prescribe medications per protocol.
• Participate in community outreach events.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Job description

The Physician Assistant is responsible to provide healthcare services to patients in both the clinic and in surgery, under direction and responsibility of physician(s).

Full-time role out of our Blaine, Brooklyn Park & Coon Rapids locations.

Twin Cities Orthopedics is an operating division of Infinite Health Collaborative (i-Health), a group of local medical practices, owned and led by its physicians, on a mission to give patients more control over their healthcare.

Essential Functions

• Assist physician in the clinic (e.g., room and prep patients; order x-rays; compile patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examination)
• Assist surgeon in operating room (e.g., pre-surgery planning, position patient in O.R., check for proper instruments, assist in surgical procedure, close wound, remove patient)
• Perform therapeutic procedures such as splinting, casting, suturing and wound care
• Apply, remove, modify and adjust casts and soft goods; change dressings; remove sutures
• Implement patient management plans, record progress, and assist in provision of care
• Consultations with (phone or in-person) patients for cast application/adjustment, dressing changes or brace application; etc.
• Rounding and call, as required by supervising Physician
• Prescribe medications
• Occasionally participate in community functions relating to TCO outreach events throughout the year.
• Any and all other duties as assigned

Education and Experience Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program

Working Conditions

• Frequently lift up to 50 pounds independently and occasionally up to 100 pounds with assistance.
• Requires the ability to stand, walk, bend, and move continuously throughout the shift.
• Must be able to frequently perform physical activities such as pushing, pulling, and reaching.
• Visual acuity to read electronic and paper documents.
• Auditory ability to participate in phone or video calls clearly.
• Manual dexterity to operate standard office equipment (e.g., computer, phone, printer).
