Job Overview

This role involves identifying and managing medical and surgical problems within the Physician Assistant's scope of practice in a surgical setting. The position requires travel between multiple locations including AGH, St. Clair Hospital, Canonsburg Hospital, Washington Hospital, and our Washington office to cover clinics. Ideal candidates are self-motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment within a collaborative neurosurgical team.

Essential Responsibilities

• Obtain complete medical history and physical data on patients.
• Perform physical exams, document findings, order tests, assist in the OR, and develop treatment plans.
• Provide patient care, including rounds, documentation, developing care plans, and discharge planning.
• Communicate with physicians regarding patient care and clinical decisions.
• Educate patients and families about health, medication, and community resources.
• Prepare prescriptions as per the supervising physician’s agreement.
• Triages patient calls and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum

• BA/BS in Physician Assistant Studies
• Current PA License
• Board eligible or certified (PA-C)
• CPR (American Heart Association)
• Act 34, 33, and 73 Background Clearances

Preferred

• ACLS certification
• 1-3 years of experience
