Job summary

Sisters of Charity Hospital in Buffalo, NY is seeking a Physician Assistant for a per diem position. The PA will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive patient care under the Physician Written Practice Agreement and NYS guidelines.

Shift coverage includes Days and Evenings with Call Weekend and Holiday Rotation; responsibilities include responding to surgical on-call emergencies and maintaining required licensure and credentialing with the Medical Staff

Qualifications

• Licensed Physician Assistant registered in New York State.
• Current NYS license is held.
• Bachelor's Degree as a Physician Assistant from an accredited program.
• Infection Control Training certificate is preferred.
• Board Certification by NCCPA is required.
• Meets credentialing requirements with the Medical Staff office.

Hours: Varied Hours/ Three shifts per month/one weekend shift covering surgical floor

Summary

The Physician Assistant is a dependent health care provider who, working collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary health team, is responsible for providing comprehensive care to patients. All duties and responsibilities must be accomplished with the guidelines of the established protocols and in accordance with the Physician Written Practice Agreement as required by New York State.

Responsibilities

EDUCATION

• Licensed Physician Assistant in New York State
• Current NYS license
• Graduated from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree as a Physician Assistant
• Infection Control Training certificate desired
• Board Certification by NCCPA required
• Meets credentialing requirements as appropriate through the Medical Staff office

Experience

• One (1) year surgical experience preferred

• Ability to handle multiple priorities in a stressful situation
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
