Rothman Orthopaedics seeks a full-time Physician Assistant based in our Bensalem, PA office to support a Spine surgeon in a surgical role. Travel to Newtown and Doylestown offices will be required to cover satellite offices and hospital rounds.

The PA will assist during office hours, in the OR, and during rounds, documenting care and coordinating with nursing staff. Active PA licensure in PA and CPR certification are required.

Rothman Orthopaedics is looking to hire a full time Physician Assistant based in our Bensalem, PA office! This is a surgical position designed to support one of our Spine Surgeons. Travel will be required to our Newtown and Doylestown, PA offices.Job Summary:The Physician Assistant supports the physician in evaluating and treating patients with acute orthopaedic or postoperative problems in both the operating and office environment.Key Metrics:Increase patient satisfaction and productivity, decrease wait times, compliance with policy and procedure.Responsibilities:Assists physician during office hours, in satellite offices, and during hospital rounds to assure timely flow of patients. Participates in all aspects of patient care.Serves as a first assistant during surgical cases when needed (may be necessary in main O.R. and outpatient surgery center). (OR first assist responsibilities are at the discretion of the Director of Allied Health and the attending physician).Performs hospital rounds for inpatients.Provides coverage with evaluation, treatment, and documentation of service for patients requiring orthopaedic care.Participates in and contributes to orthopaedic educational activities for hospital nursing and physical therapy staff.Assists physician during office hours including preoperative and postoperative instructions.Responds to and refers incoming telephone calls. Instructs patient and family regarding treatment instructions and medications.Dictates and documents all patient encounters. Dictates Medical Necessity letters. Completes forms for Workmans Comp. and Disability.Discusses patient care and necessary home equipment with Homecare Nurse.Prepares discharge letters and make post-op calls to referring physicians.Reviews charts preoperatively and document any pertinent information.Rotates with residents and fellow nurses and PAs covering the RI on-call schedules.Writes, faxes and/or phones in prescriptions for patients.Liaisons between RI physician and outside consulting physicians regarding patient care.Assists physician during hospital rounds with post-op patients and with research as needed.Exemplifies the desired culture and philosophies of the organization.Qualifications:Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant ProgramActive Pennsylvania Physician Assistant licensure and active CPR certificationOur Commitment to Employees:Come work at Rothman Orthopaedics!
