Job summary

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a Physician Assistant for duty in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The role includes clinical care, teaching PA students, and participation in administrative duties as directed by the Service Chief.

Qualifications

• Duties include clinical responsibilities as a Physician Assistant in both IP and OP settings.
• Provide healthcare classes to patients and staff as requested.
• Precept Physician Assistant students and participate inQuality Assurance and committee work as directed.

Responsibilities

• Basic Life Support in accordance with CPR standards.
• Monitor and stabilize life-threatening traumatic injuries until EMS arrives.
• Initial treatment of acute respiratory failure.
• Administrative duties such as Quality Assurance and Peer Review; service on committees.
• Participate in patient care and telework is not available; schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM.

Program Approval - award amount (up to $200 -000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.

Duties

• The duties of the position may include but - aren't limited to: Basic Life Support in accordance with current Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation standards
• Monitor and stabilize life-threatening traumatic injuries until emergency medical service arrives
• Initial treatment of acute respiratory failure
• Administrative duties such as Quality Assurance - Peer Review - serving on various committees as may be directed by the Service Chief or administration
• Function as a PA in both IP and OP settings as assigned
• Precept Physician Assistant students
