Job summary

Qualifications

• Knowledge of health promotion and prevention principles.
• Ability to follow Health Center protocols and Texas regulations.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and appropriate abbreviations.
• Knowledge of the Texas Medical Practice Act and Texas Medical Board regulations.
• Ability to document, with clarity, all information relevant to a patient’s needs.
• Ability to effectively present information to patients and staff.
• Proficiency with standard office equipment.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical services delegated by supervising physician.
• Provide pediatric preventive care and care for pediatric illnesses.
• Conduct outpatient visits at clinic, including extended hours.
• Maintain patient health records and timely documentation.
• Lead the health care team in planning and prioritizing patient/family needs.
• Refer patients for specialty care and review labs/imaging.
• Ensure continuity of care and participate in quality improvement.

Education

Degree from an accredited Physician Assistant Program

Current unrestricted license from the Texas Physician Assistant Board

Annual continuing medical education as required by the Texas Physician Assistant Board

Must be registered and have current DEA, DPS, and other certificates to legally operate as a practitioner in the State of Texas

One (1) year of practice experience providing direct patient care

Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) for Healthcare Professionals Certification
