Job Description

We are seeking a talented Physician Assistant (PA-C) Surgical Nocturnist to join our General Surgery / Emergency General Surgery Service. The PA-C will provide high-quality, efficient, and team-based patient care under physician supervision in an inpatient or acute care setting. Responsibilities include:

  1. Providing patient care, consultative services, and education within the scope of practice.
  2. Performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures following established protocols.
  3. Examining patients, reviewing diagnostic results, and compiling medical data.
  4. Developing and implementing patient management plans.
  5. Collaborating with physicians and healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes.
  6. Facilitating patient discharge and documenting care services.
  7. Writing orders under physician supervision and performing surgical procedures when authorized.
  8. Participating in research and continuing education activities.
  9. Assessing quality of care and implementing evidence-based improvements.
  10. Initiating emergency resuscitation and stabilization as per hospital regulations.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Completion of an accredited RNFA program.
  • Bachelor's Degree required.

License/Certifications:

  • Current, unrestricted California PA license.
  • DEA License (Schedule 2-5).
  • National PA Certification.
  • ACLS Life Support certification.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years in General Surgery or Emergency General Surgery as a Physician Assistant.
  • 2 years of RNFA experience.
  • Surgical residency or fellowship preferred.
