Job summary

Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush seeks a full-time Physician Assistant to support a busy orthopedic surgeon specializing in hand, wrist, and elbow surgery. Travel to clinics in Chicago, Oak Brook, and Gold Coast Surgicenter is required. New graduates or experienced candidates are welcome to apply.

The role emphasizes exceptional patient service, education, and teamwork within a leading orthopedic group recognized for excellence in Illinois and beyond.

Qualifications

• BA/BS, MS preferred; graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Current Illinois PA license or willingness to apply.
• Certified by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants
• Current CPR Certification

Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with the existing team in clinic and OR settings.
• Assist the physician in clinic and operating room settings.
• Assess patient health status and determine diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
• Utilize EHR, dictation, and outcomes tools to ensure excellent patient care.
• Provide medical care as delegated by the physician and educate patients and families.
• Conduct full physical exams and compile medical data including health history.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests and manage procedures.
• Travel with the physician to various clinic locations as required.
• Counsel patients on treatment plans and adherence.
