Job summary

HTU in Texas is seeking a Physician Assistant to provide patient care in a clinic setting under the supervision of a primary care physician. You will take detailed histories and perform physical examinations.

You will determine tentative diagnoses, order appropriate laboratory tests, counsel patients and families on health and disease, and assist with minor procedures including suturing and casting as needed.

Qualifications

• ARC-PA accredited Physician Assistant program completion.
• NCCPA certification.
• Licensed as Physician Assistant by TPAB/TMB in Texas.
• No prior experience required; current students or recent graduates may apply, contingent on certification/licensure.

Your Role

Here’s what you will be doing:

• Provide patient care assistance in a clinic setting under the supervision of a primary care physician.
• Obtain detailed patient histories and perform complete physical examinations.
• Determine tentative diagnoses and order appropriate laboratory tests.
• Counsel patients and families on health and disease.
• Suture minor wounds, assist in surgery, apply and remove casts and traction apparatus, and perform other therapeutic procedures under physician supervision.
• May supervise other Physician Assistants.
• Adhere to internal controls established for the department.
• Perform related duties as required.

About You

The company is looking for:

• Completion of a physician assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA).
• Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
• Licensed Physician Assistant by the Texas Physician Assistant Board/Texas Medical Board (TPAB/TMB).
• No prior experience required; current students or recent graduates who have not yet obtained certification or licensure are eligible to apply, with employment contingent upon successful completion and certification/licensure.
