Qualifications

• 1 year of clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
• Active Texas NP or PA license.
• Board certification: NCCPA (PA) or ANCC/AANP with FNP (NP).
• Active DEA license or ability to obtain.
• Ability to treat patients of all ages.
• Active BLS certification.
• Proficiency with EHR systems.
• Willingness to work occasional weekends and holidays.
• DOT certification required or willingness to obtain (fees covered).

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages in an urgent care setting.
• Manage acute illnesses, injuries, and occupational health visits.
• Order and interpret diagnostic studies, including labs and imaging.
• Perform urgent care procedures such as suturing, splinting, and wound management.
• Clearly communicate diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
• Document patient care accurately in the EHR.
• Code and bill services appropriately.
• Maintain productivity consistent with urgent care benchmarks.
• Practice in alignment with NextCare clinical standards and values.

Location: Spring, Texas
Status: Full-Time
Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts per week; standard clinic hours are 8:00 AM–8:00 PM, seven days a week

Position Summary

We are seeking a Full-Time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team in Spring, Texas. This role is ideal for clinicians who value variety, autonomy, and meaningful community impact while practicing in a fast-paced, well-supported urgent care environment.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

• Active, unrestricted Texas NP or PA license

• Board certification:

  • PA: NCCPA certification

  • NP: ANCC or AANP certification; FNP required

• Active DEA license or ability to obtain

• Ability to treat patients of all ages

• Active BLS certification

• EHR proficiency

• Willingness to work occasional weekends and holidays

• DOT certification required or willingness to obtain; fees covered

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior urgent care, emergency medicine, or fast-track experience

• Strong procedural skills, including suturing, splinting, and wound care

• Experience with initial x-ray interpretation prior to radiology over-read

• Experience practicing independently in a fast-paced clinical environment
