Job summary

NextCare is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our urgent care team in Spring, Texas. The role offers autonomy, strong clinical support, and a community-focused environment with flexible scheduling to promote work-life balance.

Clinic hours include 8a–8p, seven days a week, with 12-hour shifts and rotating weekends. Expected collaboration with experienced clinicians and leadership guidance in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
• Active, unrestricted Texas NP or PA license.
• Board certification: PA NCCPA or NP ANCC/AANP (FNP required).
• Active DEA license or ability to obtain.
• Active BLS certification.
• DOT certification required or willingness to obtain; fees covered.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages in an urgent care setting.
• Manage acute illnesses, injuries, and occupational health visits.
• Order and interpret diagnostic studies, including labs and imaging.
• Perform urgent care procedures such as suturing, splinting, and wound management.
• Clearly communicate diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in the EHR.
• Code and bill services appropriately.
• Maintain productivity consistent with urgent care benchmarks.
• Practice in alignment with NextCare clinical standards and values.

Position Summary

• Prior urgent care, emergency medicine, or fast-track experience
• Strong procedural skills, including suturing, splinting, and wound care
• Experience with initial x-ray interpretation prior to radiology over-read
• Experience practicing independently in a fast-paced clinical environment
