Job summary

NextCare Urgent Care in the Dallas–Mesquite area is seeking a Full-Time Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our Mesquite clinic. You will provide autonomous, high-quality urgent care across all ages with strong teamwork and a patient-centered approach.

The role features three 12-hour shifts per week, clinic hours 8:00 AM–8:00 PM seven days a week, and a comprehensive benefits package. Experience in fast-paced urgent care is preferred.

Qualifications

• EHR proficiency required.
• Ability to work three 12-hour shifts per week, including weekends/holidays.
• DOT certification or willingness to obtain (fees covered).
• Active Texas NP or PA license with national board certification.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients in urgent care.
• Manage acute illnesses and injuries; order/interpret studies.
• Perform urgent care procedures (suturing, splinting, wound care).
• Document encounters in the EHR and code/bill services.

Position Summary

NextCare Urgent Care is seeking a Full-Time Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our team at our Mesquite, TX clinic in the Dallas area.

Our clinics operate from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, seven days a week, with schedules provided in advance to support work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages in an urgent care setting

Manage acute illnesses, injuries, and occupational health visits

Order and interpret diagnostic studies, including laboratory testing and imaging

Perform urgent care procedures, including suturing, splinting, and wound management

Clearly communicate diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions

Document patient encounters accurately and efficiently in the EHR

Code and bill services appropriately

Maintain productivity consistent with urgent care benchmarks

Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in alignment with NextCare's clinical standards and values

Required Qualifications

Active, unrestricted Texas Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license

Current national board certification:

Nurse Practitioners: ANCC or AANP certification (Family Nurse Practitioner required)

Active DEA license or ability to obtain

Ability to evaluate and treat patients of all ages

Active BLS certification

Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR)

Ability to work three 12-hour shifts per week, including rotating weekends and holidays

DOT certification or willingness to obtain (certification fees covered)

Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced urgent care environment

Preferred Qualifications

Previous urgent care, emergency medicine, or fast-track experience

Strong procedural skills, including suturing, splinting, and wound care

Experience managing a broad range of acute illnesses and injuries

Experience with initial X-ray interpretation prior to radiology over-read

Confidence managing patient flow while maintaining high-quality care
