We are seeking a Physician Assistant at City of Hope in Antelope Valley. The Physician Assistant functions as part of a care team, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary health team, and is responsible for providing comprehensive patient care. The Physician Assistant provides independent and collaborative medical management to a defined patient population, according to standardized procedures and in collaboration with a physician supervisor.

As a successful candidate, you will:

  1. Provide primary, secondary, and in some cases, tertiary care within scope of practice, licensure, and organizational policies.
  2. Services provided include, but are not limited to, taking histories, conducting physical examinations, ordering, performing, and interpreting appropriate diagnostic and laboratory tests and therapies, and furnishing drugs and devices in a cost-efficient manner for specific conditions.
  3. Perform history and physical assessments of patients that are accurate, concise, relevant, and appropriate.
  4. Document consultations and new patient notes.
  5. Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including laboratory and imaging evaluations.
  6. Develop, implement, and evaluate the plan of care with modifications as needed, in coordination with the attending physician when appropriate.
  7. Perform routine procedures pertinent to the practice and as granted through the privilege process.
  8. Manage follow-up patients independently, including ordering follow-up imaging, providing medical care, and supporting the patient, including ordering pharmacological agents.
  9. Interpret imaging results and communicate with the attending physician regarding patient changes.
  10. Prescribe and counsel patients on narcotic use safety.
  11. Review treatment and therapy plans with patients and their families.
