Overview
Position Title: Physician Assistant (PA) and/or Nurse Practitioner (NP)
Location: Polk County and Osceola County
Reports to: Medical Director / Supervising Physician
Employment Type: Full Time / Part Time
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of residents including history and physical examination, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
- Provide ongoing management of acute and chronic conditions in long-term care populations.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests and laboratory results.
- Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with state licensure and facility protocols.
- Collaborate with nursing staff, therapists, and other members of the interdisciplinary team to develop individualized care plans.
- Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, treatment options, medications, and preventative care.
- Respond to urgent and emergent resident needs and support facility staff in critical situations.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant medical documentation.
- Adhere to federal, state and facility regulations, ensuring quality standards and compliance in all aspects of care.
Qualifications
- Current, unrestricted license as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in the state of Florida
- Certification through NCCPA (for PAs) and national NP certification (ANNC or AANP)
- Valid DEA license (or eligibility to obtain)
- Prior experience in geriatrics, internal medicine, family medicine, or long-term care preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities with residents, families, and staff.
