Base pay range

$100,000.00/yr - $180,000.00/yr

Job Description

Performs a variety of functions and technical procedures necessary for patient admission, assessment, diagnosis, treatment, follow-up, and outcome evaluation. Participates in performance improvement, research, and educational activities.

Schedule

Opportunities for Day, Night, Weekend, Holiday shifts.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Takes initial patient histories and performs physical examinations.
  2. Initiates, documents, and communicates the plan of care and follows up to ensure complete screening and preparation of patients.
  3. Performs daily patient rounds.
  4. Writes orders for medications, laboratory work, and diagnostic tests.
  5. Interprets laboratory and test results.
  6. Confers with attending physicians, residents, nursing staff, and other care providers to ensure optimum patient care.
  7. Notes discharge summaries, prescriptions, and referrals on patient charts upon discharge.
  8. Informs patients of post-discharge care instructions.
  9. Performs related duties as required. All responsibilities noted here are considered essential functions of the job under the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Job Qualifications
  1. Bachelor’s Degree, required. Graduate of an accredited (ARC-PA) Physician Assistant program, required.
  2. Current license to practice as a Physician Assistant (PA) by the New York State Department of Education, required.
  3. Current NCCPA Certification from the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), required.
  4. Current BLS certification, required.
