Wilson Health in Sidney, Ohio, is seeking a full-time Physician Assistant to join our OB/GYN team as a surgical first assistant. The role focuses on first-assist duties for GYN procedures and Cesarean sections, with OB/GYN call coverage of 1:4, and collaboration with a skilled clinical staff.

You will participate in a broad range of gynecologic surgeries and obstetric care in a supportive community hospital setting, delivering patient-centered care and maintaining thorough perioperative

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Ohio PA license or eligibility.
• NCCPA certification or eligibility.
• Surgical first-assist experience preferred.
• OB/GYN, gynecologic surgery, and/or obstetrics experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as first surgical assistant for GYN procedures including laparoscopic, hysteroscopic, vaginal, and open cases.
• Assist physicians with preoperative and postoperative patient management.
• Perform histories and physical exams and assist with treatment plans.
• Provide perioperative patient care and postoperative follow-up.
• Assist with inpatient and outpatient OB/GYN patient management as needed.
• Participate in the OB/GYN call rotation (1:4).
• Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and families.
• Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation.

Wilson Health is seeking a motivated and highly skilled Physician Assistant (PA) to join our Obstetrics & Gynecology team in a full-time position. The primary focus of this role will be providing first-assist support for GYN surgical procedures and Cesarean sections, along with supporting the OB/GYN team in the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care.

Position Highlights

• Full-time, 1.0 FTE
• Primary focus: First assist in GYN surgery and Cesarean sections
• OB/GYN call: 1:4
• Collaborative practice with experienced OB/GYN physicians and clinical staff
• Opportunity to participate in a broad range of gynecologic surgical procedures and obstetric care

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as first surgical assistant for GYN procedures, including laparoscopic, hysteroscopic, vaginal, and open surgical cases as appropriate
• Assist physicians with preoperative and postoperative patient management
• Perform patient histories and physical examinations and assist with development of treatment plans
• Provide perioperative patient care, including surgical preparation and postoperative follow-up
• Assist with inpatient and outpatient OB/GYN patient management as needed
• Participate in the OB/GYN call rotation of 1:4
• Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, surgical staff, patients, and families
• Promote safe, compassionate, and evidence-based patient care
• Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
• Current Ohio Physician Assistant license or eligibility for Ohio licensure
• NCCPA certification (or eligibility, as applicable)
• Current BLS certification; additional certifications as required by the position
• Surgical first-assist experience strongly preferredA
• Experience in OB/GYN, gynecologic surgery, and/or obstetrics preferred
• Experience with robotic-assisted surgery is a plus and highly desirable
• Strong clinical, communication, and teamwork skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical and obstetric environment
