We are seeking talented individuals to join our team across various locations in the greater St. Louis and Kansas City regions.

We are currently hiring for a Physician’s Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to work with a trauma surgeon at a large, private orthopedic practice. Key locations include South County and West County in the suburbs of St. Louis. The successful candidate will collaborate with an experienced Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon in both office and operating room settings, interpreting advanced imaging to diagnose and manage degenerative spinal conditions. Candidates should possess excellent clinical skills, attention to detail, and strong interpersonal skills. Compensation includes a base salary plus productivity-based bonuses.

Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct comprehensive and problem-focused history and physical exams, including neurological assessments. Interpret laboratory and diagnostic procedures to formulate differential and working diagnoses, and develop treatment plans for spinal pathologies within scope of practice. Implement appropriate therapeutic interventions and exercise judgment on when to consult or refer to specialists.
  2. Order, collect, and interpret laboratory and diagnostic studies such as X-rays, MRI, EMG/NCV, and CT scans.
  3. Manage conservative treatments for degenerative spinal conditions, including physical therapy, medications, and referrals for interventional pain management procedures like injections. Develop surgical plans when necessary.
  4. Handle ER admissions and orthopedic consults.
  5. Perform hospital rounds, write orders, and manage consults, including documentation and discharge summaries.
  6. Conduct post-operative rounds, hospital admissions and discharges, and write related documentation.
  7. Prescribe and dispense medications, spinal orthoses, and orthopedic devices in accordance with state laws.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Trauma experience preferred; orthopedic experience a plus.
  • Strong rapport-building skills with patients.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Salary commensurate with experience, with performance-based bonuses.
