Beth Israel Lahey Health seeks an Orthopaedic NP/PA to partner with a surgeon in general orthopaedics, sports procedures, and joint replacements. You will assist in the OR and independently manage a patient panel in outpatient clinics with physician support available.

Schedule: This is a full-time, 40-hour position. You'll work four 10-hour shifts each week, with a combination of operating room time and independent clinic sessions. Typically, you'll spend 1-2 days assisting in surgery and the remainder of the week managing your own clinic schedule. There are no nights, weekends, or call responsibilities.
The primary clinic location will be in Chestnut Hill, where you'll see patients in an outpatient setting. Surgical cases are performed primarily at New England Baptist Hospital in Mission Hill, with future opportunities to support procedures at the expanding surgical center at One Brookline Place.
As an Orthopaedic NP/PA, you'll partner closely with a surgeon whose practice includes general Orthopaedics, sports-related procedures, shoulder replacement surgery, and total knee replacements. You'll assist in the operating room and independently manage your own outpatient clinic schedule, seeing the surgeon's patients for post-operative visits, follow-up care, evaluations, and injections. While you'll often practice alongside the attending physician in the same clinic space, you'll maintain your own patient panel and schedule, providing a high level of autonomous care with direct physician support readily available when needed.

Performs history and physical examinations, formulation of care plans, ordering and interpreting laboratory and diagnostic tests and provides education to patients and their families. Acts as an educator and serves as a clinical resource for staff through consultation formal and informal education, review of literature and participation in seminars and conferences. Coordinates the care of patients in order to provide safe, effective, efficient and timely patient centered care. Liaises between visiting nurses, clinical staff and consult services. Care plans and execution of those plans should encompass the entire service to tie the service together. Consults with physicians or surgeons regarding the care of patients for more complex diagnosis. Document clinical encounters clearly, precisely and in a timely manner. Works in a collaborative relationship with other health professional to determine health needs of patients and families. Demonstrates and role models an interdisciplinary collaborate approach to patient care.
Master's degree in Physician Assistant required. License Physician Assistant License required., and Registration DPH Drug Control required., and Certificate 1 Basic Life Support required. 0-1 years related work experience required. ARC-PA, NCCPA American Heart Association - Basic Life Support Certificate Valid prescriptive authority from both the MA DPH-DCP and Federal DEA Experience with computer systems required, including web based applications and some Microsoft Office applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access.

Team Work: Ability to lead collaborative teams for larger projects or groups both internal and external to the Medical Center and across functional areas. Results have implications for the management and operations of multiple areas of the organization. Customer Service: Ability to provide a high level of customer service and staff training to meet customer service standards and expectations for the assigned unit(s). Resolves service issues in the assigned unit(s) in a timely and respectful manner.

$64.00 - $230,000.00 The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
