Florida Digestive Health Specialists, LLP seeks a full-time Advanced Practice Provider (APRN/PA) - GI Hospitalist to join our premier gastroenterology team at HCA Florida Brandon Hospital in Brandon, FL. The role features a 7 days on / 7 days off schedule with hours 8:00am–7:00pm and a hospital-based focus rather than outpatient work.

You will provide inpatient GI services, collaborate with hospital-based gastroenterologists and staff, and coordinate care for hospitalized patients requiring GI

Qualifications

• Active Florida license
• GI experience required
• Hospitalist experience preferred
• Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Familiarity with EMR charting systems
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary hospital team
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple hospitalized patients and competing clinical priorities

Responsabilités

• Provide inpatient gastroenterology evaluation and management at the hospital.
• Perform initial and follow-up consultations for hospitalized patients with GI conditions.
• Obtain histories, perform examinations, and develop care plans.
• Collaborate with FDHS gastroenterologists regarding evaluation and procedures.
• Monitor patients and communicate changes to physicians.
• Coordinate diagnostic testing, procedures, and follow-up care.
• Assist with evaluation and management before/after GI procedures.
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses and procedures.
• Communicate with hospitalists, surgeons, ED staff, and nursing.
• Maintain accurate EMR documentation and discharge planning.

The Advanced Practice Provider (APRN / PA) - Hospitalist will provide inpatient gastroenterology services and serve as a dedicated clinical resource for hospitalized patients requiring GI evaluation and management. The FDHS provider will work closely with hospital-based gastroenterologists, hospitalists, nursing staff, and other members of the hospital care team to provide timely, coordinated, and high-quality patient care. This is a hospital-based position and does not involve routine outpatient office responsibilities.

• Provide inpatient gastroenterology evaluation and management at Lakewood Ranch Medical Center.
• Perform initial and follow-up consultations for hospitalized patients with gastrointestinal conditions.
• Obtain patient histories, perform physical examinations, and develop appropriate plans of care.
• Collaborate closely with FDHS gastroenterologists regarding patient evaluation, treatment, and procedures.
• Monitor patients throughout their hospitalization and communicate changes in clinical status to the appropriate physician.
• Coordinate diagnostic testing, procedures, consultations, and follow-up care.
• Assist with the evaluation and management of patients before and after GI procedures.
• Provide education to patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and recommended procedures.
• Communicate effectively with hospitalists, surgeons, emergency department providers, nursing staff, and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical record documentation.
• Participate in discharge planning and coordinate appropriate follow-up care.
• Provide responsive, patient-centered care in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Physical Demands

The employee is frequently required to walk; sit; use hands for fine manipulation, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms using a keyboard and video display terminal.
