South University in Alabama seeks a Medical Director to lead the PA program's didactic and clinical education, ensuring alignment with current practice standards. The role includes curriculum oversight, student evaluation, and collaboration with clinical partners to foster educational excellence.

The candidate will contribute to assessment, accreditation activities, faculty development, and curriculum design, while engaging with the medical community and supporting student learning outcomes.

Formación

• Must be licensed as an osteopathic or allopathic physician or PA.
• Board certification by the appropriate certifying body.
• License must be current, valid and unencumbered.
• PA graduates must hold NCCPA certification or emeritus status.
• A doctoral degree is preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Provide ongoing medical guidance to align didactic and SCPE with current standards.
• Assist faculty in reviewing and assessing PA curriculum and support program improvement.
• Advocate for the PA program within medical and academic communities.
• Support clinical site development and retention as part of the Clinical Education Team.
• Ensure outcomes and graduate competencies through engagement with facilities and preceptors.
• Participate in Admissions Committee activities and candidate selection.
• Engage in accreditation activities and program evaluation.
• Provide teaching: coordinate preceptors, lecture, and advise students.
• Contribute to curriculum design and data-driven planning sessions.
• Evaluate student performance and provide remedial instruction as needed.
• Participate in OSCEs, labs, and clinical reasoning sessions.
• Assist with recruitment and evaluation of teaching faculty and preceptors.
• Participate in Student Progress and Promotions Committee meetings and related events.
• Maintain high professional and ethical standards.
• Represent the department at professional meetings and conferences.
• Remain current in medical practice and complete required faculty development.
• Engage in service, community engagement, campus relations, and scholarly activities.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.
