Boston Children's Hospital seeks a Physician Assistant to care for inpatients in the Otolaryngology service. The role covers rounding, admissions, and collaborative work with ORL attendings, fellows, and residents.

Responsibilities include seeing inpatient, ICU and ER consults, discharges, ordering tests, and assisting in the OR. The position is full-time on Boston campus, with four 10-hour shifts.

Qualifications

• Master of Physician Assistant Studies required.
• Massachusetts PA license required.
• Surgical experience in Otolaryngology or pediatric setting preferred.

Physician Assistant, Inpatient Otolaryngology

Key Responsibilities:

Responsibilities will pertain to all aspects of inpatient care.

• Rounding in the morning and afternoon with senior team members
• Handling all floor work and patient discharges
• Seeing inpatient, ICU and ER consults
• Admitting patients from the ER, clinics and operating room
• Work closely with ORL attendings, fellows and residents
• We also cover the BIDMC and BWH for neonatal consults, which are seen with and staffed by BCH ORL attendings
• Ordering and interpreting necessary diagnostic tests, consultations and procedures and issuing appropriate prescriptions/medications.
• Assisting in the operating room as needed.
• Actively participating in Department of ORL educational meetings and conferences.
• Working 40 hours per week: Four 10-hour shifts Monday through Friday. Boston campus only.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

• Master of Physician Assistant Studies

Experience

• Previous surgical experience as a PA is preferred
• Prior Otolaryngology and or Pediatric PA experience strongly preferred

Licensure/Certifications

• A current Massachusetts PA license
