The Wentworth-Douglass Orthopedics team provides expert care in various subspecialties including hand and upper extremities, spine, sports medicine, total joint, trauma, and foot and ankle. Our multidisciplinary team is made up of physicians and musculoskeletal providers who collaborate closely using an integrated care model to design personalized treatment plans for each patient. From athletic injuries to degenerative conditions, our goal is to restore and maintain comfort and function for all patients. We work closely with physiatrists, interventional pain specialists, and our physical and occupational therapists to provide comprehensive assessments, so you can regain mobility and independence.
We are seeking a full-time Physician Assistant (PA) to join our Orthopedics team and support our Foot & Ankle surgeon. This position is scheduled Monday through Friday, with rotating weekend and holiday coverage as needed. Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) work under the clinical supervision of the Medical Director and the operational direction of the Practice Manager. The PA will have a role in the clinic setting and serve as first assist for Foot & Ankle surgical procedures, with potential exposure to additional orthopedic cases at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital. The primary location for patient care will be in our orthopedic clinic located at 7 Marsh Brook Drive in Somersworth, NH and possible future clinic coverage in our Portsmouth, NH location.
This role offers a unique opportunity to combine surgical first-assist experience with independent outpatient orthopedic practice, working closely with a dedicated Foot & Ankle surgeon while caring for a diverse orthopedic patient population.
The Physician Assistant (PA) is a licensed provider. The PA is responsible for the assessment and management of various populations of patients, medical and/or surgical, including diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, development of appropriate plans of care and ongoing evaluation. May also perform additional duties, such as precepting a small group of learners.
