Job summary

BAS HealthCare is seeking a Certified Advanced Practice Provider (PA/NP) for family medicine in Arcata, CA. This locum tenens role handles a mix of pediatric and adult patients, with a goal of at least 18 patient encounters daily, in a Monday–Friday schedule from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

The position requires active CA license, DEA registration, board certification, and up-to-date immunizations. Credentialing takes 45–90 days; a 30-day notice is required to end assignments.

Qualifications

• CA license and DEA registration required.
• Board-certified PA with CA license; active CA license and DEA registration required.
• Minimum 3+ years of experience in a similar clinical setting.
• Immunizations up-to-date as listed (flu, TB status/x-ray, MMR, Hep B, Varicella, Tdap).
• Credentialing period 45–90 days; 6 weeks for timely locum submissions.
• 30-day notice required to end assignment.

Responsibilities

• Provide family medicine services to pediatric and adult patients in locum tenens capacity.
• Maintain a minimum of 18 patient encounters per day.
• Carry some Chronic Pain Management responsibilities.
• Complete chart closure within 72 hours of each encounter.
• Work Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM.
• Nearest airport is Arcata (ACV).

Job Details

• Required immunizations before start date include: 2022-2023 Flu Vaccine, TB Status/X-Ray Results (within 90 days of start date), Positive MMR Titer or Complete Immunization Series, Positive Hep B Titer or Complete Immunization Series, Positive Varicella Zoster Titer or Complete Immunization Series, and Tdap Immunization (within the last 10 years)
• Credentialing timeframe is 45-90 days; six weeks is standard for locums who submit application and documents in a timely manner
