Matrix Providers Inc. is seeking a Physician Assistant – Family Medicine to join our team at Evans Army Community Hospital, Fort Carson, Colorado.

You will provide comprehensive PA services in primary care, manage acute and preventive care, and support a busy clinic. The position requires NCCPA certification, BLS, ARC-PA education, and an active PA license with duties including examinations, patient education, and collaboration with care teams.

Qualifications

• Graduate from ARC-PA accredited program.
• Certified by NCCPA.
• BLS certification from AHA or Red Cross.
• Active, full, unrestricted Physician Assistant license.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive PA services in primary and specialty care within PA scope and MTF privileges.
• Evaluate, diagnose, treat, and manage acute, chronic, and preventive care.
• Perform patient examinations, screenings, immunizations, and routine medical procedures.
• Recognize emergencies and refer complex cases to physicians or specialists.
• Develop treatment plans and prescribe medications according to protocols.
• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures within clinical guidelines.
• Promote preventive medicine and patient self-management.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and healthcare teams for quality care.
• Provide clinical guidance and education to staff; participate in meetings and quality improvement.

Job description

Matrix Providers is hiringa Physician Assistant – Family Medicine to join our team of talented professionals who provide health care services to our Military Service Members and their families at Evans Army Community Hospital located at Fort Carson CO.

• Employment Status: Full-Time
• Compensation:
  • $63.65-$67.00/hour
• Schedule: Evans Army Community Hospital is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Generally/ Current schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:30am-4:30pm. Hours are subject to change, and may include nights, weekends, or home call if future need arises. The Contract employee shall work no more than 40 hours per week without prior authorization from the supervisor or department chief.

Requirements: Physician Assistant– Family Medicine must have and meet the following:

• Education: Graduate from an accredited college or university certified by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education of the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA).
• Certification:
  • Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician’s Assistants (NCCPA). Certification: Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician’s Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Experience: Have actively practiced as a Family Medicine – Physician Assistant for 24 months within the last 36 months, and are able to demonstrate current clinical competency. Current clinical competency is verifiable by clinical activity logs submitted by the previous medical institutions
• Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Physician Assistant.

Core Duties:

• Provide comprehensive Physician Assistant services in primary and specialty care within scope of practice and MTF privileges.
• Evaluate, diagnose, treat, and manage patients with acute, chronic, and preventive healthcare needs.
• Perform patient examinations, screenings, immunizations and routine medical procedures.
• Recognize emergency conditions, provide appropriate treatment, and refer complex cases to physicians or specialists.
• Develop treatment plans and prescribe medications and immunizations according to approved protocols.
• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures within established clinical guidelines.
• Promote preventive medicine, health education, wellness, and patient self-management strategies.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and healthcare teams to coordinate quality patient care.
• Provide clinical guidance, training, and education to staff and participate in meetings and quality improvement activities.
• Educate patients and families, maintain infection control standards, and communicate healthcare plans effectively.

Clinic and Patient Information

• Manage a fast-paced family medicine workload of approximately 20–23 scheduled patients per day, including 6–15 acute or high‑acuity cases.
• Provide a mix of in-person and virtual care, with approximately four virtual appointments and four acute visits scheduled daily.
• Deliver well‑child and well‑baby examinations, acute care, follow‑up visits, and care for new patients.
• Adapt to frequent schedule, staffing, and workload changes while maintaining timely, high‑quality patient care.
• Complete clinical and administrative responsibilities, including documentation, patient messages, results review and follow‑up, EFMP processes, email and Teams communication, safety reports, peer reviews, and continuing‑education presentations.
• Participate in group meetings, quarterly provider meetings, and other assigned clinic activities.
• Work independently following an estimated four‑to‑six‑week onboarding and training period.
• Collaborate effectively with clinic staff, leadership, and contract partners in a dynamic healthcare environment.
