Job summary

AdventHealth in Altamonte Springs, FL, is seeking a Physician Assistant for a full-time Day shift. You will perform comprehensive patient assessments, diagnose and treat illnesses, develop care plans, and collaborate with physicians and the healthcare team. The role emphasizes patient education, safety, and high-quality outcomes.

Candidates should have a Master’s degree, PA licensure, and strong clinical judgment. Preference for 1+ year healthcare experience and BLS certification.

Job Description:

• Performs comprehensive patient assessments, including obtaining medical histories and conducting physical examinations.
• Evaluates, diagnoses, and treats acute and chronic illnesses, injuries, and other health conditions within scope of practice.
• Develops, implements, and evaluates individualized plans of care in collaboration with patients, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Orders, performs, and interprets laboratory, diagnostic, and other tests as appropriate.
• Prescribes, administers, and monitors medications and therapeutic interventions in accordance with licensure and organizational policies.
• Provides patient and family education regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, preventive care, and health maintenance.
• Documents assessments, treatment plans, patient encounters, and clinical outcomes accurately and timely within the medical record.
• Coordinates patient care services, including consultations, referrals, follow-up care, and transitions across the continuum of care.
• Collaborates with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe, effective, and efficient delivery of care.
• Maintains compliance with applicable regulatory, accreditation, privacy, and organizational requirements.
• Participates in quality improvement, patient safety, and performance improvement initiatives as assigned.
• Supports patient advocacy, patient satisfaction, and a culture of compassionate, patient-centered care.
• Maintains professional competency through continuing education and ongoing professional development.
• Utilizes sound clinical judgment and evidence-based practice to support quality patient outcomes.
