What We're Looking for in a Physician Assistant

• Degree/Education: A graduate Physician Assistant qualified by academic and practical education to provide patient services as a physician extender under supervision of a physician is required. A graduate of a Physician Assistant Training Program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARCPA), or its predecessors, and acceptable to the Surgeon General, USAF is required.
• Experience: Have at least 24 months of experience as a Physician Assistant within the last 36 months. At least 12 months Emergency Department/Urgent Care experience is preferred.
• Certifications: Certifications (in addition to Basic Life Support identified in paragraph 1.5.45.6.): Certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Committee on Certification Physician Assistants (NCCPA) is required
• Board Certification: None.
• Licensure: For positions involving patient care, candidates must have a permanent, full, and unrestricted Physician Assistant license to practice in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
