Job summary

AHN seeks an Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant to join the Heritage Valley Beaver on-site team. You will provide primary and emergency care under physician supervision, rotating shifts in a fast-paced ED.

Requirements include PA national certification or state Licensure and BLS; ACLS/PALS encouraged. Minimum one year direct emergency patient care experience preferred. Successful completion of required clearances within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Nationally certified and/or state licensed to provide care as a physician assistant.
• BLS certification.
• Successful completion of applicable clearances within 90 days of commencing employment.
• ACLS & PALS certification encouraged.
• At least 1 year of direct emergency patient care experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary and emergency care to Emergency Department patients under supervision of the ED physician.
• Collaborate with ED nurses and care teams to manage patient flow and safety.
• Rotate through shifts as part of a full-time on-site ED team.

Department: Emergency Department. Cross credentialed between all hospital campuses (AHN Beaver and AHN Sewickley)
Work Hours: Full time, Rotating shifts.

The Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant is a professional with advanced education and training in the primary and emergency care of newborn to geriatric populations. The physician assistant is responsible for providing primary care to Emergency Department patients under the direct medical supervision of the Emergency Department physician, indirectly under the supervision of the Emergency Department Nurse Practitioner Coordinator, and ultimately reports to the Medical Director.

Requirements:
Nationally certified and/or State licensed to provide care as a physician assistant. BLS certification.
Successful completion of applicable clearances as outlined in Human Resources policy HR-106 within 90 days of commencing employment.

Preferred:
At least one year of direct emergency patient care experience. ACLS & PALS certification is encouraged.
