Job summary

Community Care Clinic in Winston-Salem, NC seeks a Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join a mission-driven clinical team providing primary and preventive care for uninsured patients. The PA will evaluate and treat common conditions, develop treatment plans, and help navigate financial and language barriers in a free-clinic setting.

The role emphasizes compassionate, evidence-based care, coordination with physicians and staff, and adherence to HIPAA and CCC policies.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited physician assistant program and current NCCPA certification, or ability to obtain certification before beginning clinical duties.
• Current, unrestricted North Carolina PA license, compact privilege, or documented eligibility before beginning clinical duties.
• Current Basic Life Support certification and eligibility for credentialing, privileging, prescriptive authority, and required supervising-physician arrangements.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat patients; diagnose and manage common acute and chronic conditions within the PA's education and privileges.
• Develop evidence-based treatment plans; prescribe and monitor medications; order and interpret labs, imaging, and diagnostic studies.
• Review results and patient messages promptly, including follow-up outside clinic hours when needed for safety.
• Explain diagnoses, medications, testing, and follow-up plans clearly to patients and families.
• Coordinate referrals and care with physicians, nurses, interpreters, and community partners.
• Maintain complete, accurate documentation and comply with HIPAA and CCC policies.
• Support learners, onboarding of new providers, and community outreach initiatives.
