Job summary

Piedmont HealthCare PA is seeking a qualified Physician Assistant to provide comprehensive patient care in a clinic setting. The role includes performing histories, physicals, prescribing and administering medications, suturing wounds, and triaging calls while ensuring continuity of care.

Qualifications

• BA/BS, MS preferred; graduate of AMA-accredited PA program or approved NP program.
• Minimum of one-year experience as physician assistant, preferably in clinic setting.
• Or minimum of three years of professional nursing experience in a clinic setting plus two years of nurse practitioner experience.
• Maintain valid PA license for the state of North Carolina, CPR certification as required; or maintain valid RN license for NC.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patient health status and determines diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
• Provides acute and chronic patient care including histories, physicals, therapies, injections, medications, and suturing wounds.
• Triages patient calls and evaluates health problems.
• Responds to emergencies including CPR.
• Documents patient information and care in patient records; accesses data via computer.
• Educates patients and families and ensures continuity of care.
• Consults with other staff as necessary and maintains patient confidentiality.
