Corewell Health Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant to join the Cardiothoracic Surgery inpatient APP team. The PA will provide first assisting in the OR, vascular harvesting, and critical care management for CT surgery patients.

2+ years APP experience preferred. Must hold MI PA license and PA-C; BLS/ARC, PALS, and ACLS certifications required within the stated timelines. Join a nationally recognized program in a vibrant Grand Rapids location.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• LIC-Physician Assistant in Michigan required upon hire.
• PA-C (NCCPA) certification required.
• BLS (American Heart Association) or ARC within 90 days required.
• PALS within 120 days required.
• ACLS within 120 days required.

Responsibilities

• Provide first assisting in the operating room for cardiothoracic cases.
• Perform endoscopic vein and radial artery harvesting.
• Deliver critical care and general medical management for pre- and post-operative patients.
• Collaborate with physicians in a team-based model to ensure high-quality cardiac care.

Job description

We are recruiting a highly motivated, experienced Physician Assistant to join our dynamic Cardiothoracic Surgery inpatient APP team. Our Cardiothoracic Surgery program is recognized nationally and performs the highest volume of adult open-heart surgeries in the state of Michigan. This team consists of APPs who provide surgical first assisting and critical care management of the Cardiothoracic Surgery patient. The APP will function independently as a cardiothoracic surgery physician assistant with first assisting in the operating room, endoscopic vein and radial artery harvesting, critical care and general medical care of pre- and post-operative cardiothoracic surgery patients. They work collaboratively with their physician colleagues in a team-based care model to provide high level cardiac care. 2+ years APP experience preferred.

• Required Master's Degree Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant educational program.
• LIC-Physician Assistant - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
• CRT-Physician Asst Certified (PA-C) - NCCPA National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants Upon Hire required
• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 90 Days required Or
• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 90 Days required
• CRT-Pediatric Adv Life Support (PALS) - AHA American Heart Association 120 Days required
