Job summary

Westchester Medical Center seeks a Physician Assistant to join the Cardiothoracic Surgery Service in Valhalla, NY. This inpatient and operative role provides perioperative care across the Cardiothoracic ICU, stepdown, intraoperative, and inpatient surgical service with experienced MD/PA/NP colleagues.

The PA will perform daily assessments, support postoperative care for CABG, valve, and other CT surgeries, and participate in quality improvement initiatives while mentoring new clinicians.

Qualifications

• Board-certified Physician Assistant with NY license (or eligible).
• Minimum 3 years of cardiothoracic surgery experience preferred; new graduates considered.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily assessments, diagnosis, treatment planning, and ongoing management of postoperative cardiac and thoracic surgery patients.
• Participate in management of patients following CABG, valve surgery, aortic procedures and other complex cardiothoracic operations.
• Perform bedside procedures within scope and privileging (arterial lines, central venous access, chest tube management, etc.).
• Engage in quality improvement, clinical outcomes review, and patient safety initiatives.

• Must possess excellent communication skills and demonstrate an ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
