Physician Assistant - Nurse Practitioner OR Physician Assistant

Big Sur, CA

We are looking for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our medical team, seeing and treating patients within our rural health clinic in Big Sur, CA. We are flexible in our need and can accommodate a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant looking for either full-time or part-time work. Our ideal candidate would appreciate working in a very small, rural clinic, where our patients and staff are known and treated like family. We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant who is positive and enthusiastic, knowledgeable, has a strong work ethic with high attention to detail and thoroughness, and enjoys collaborating with coworkers for comprehensive patient care.

Duties:
  1. Evaluation- Patient care (exam, HPI, review pertinent medical records/imaging) approx. 15 patients per day
  2. Obtains patient history, to include past medical, family, and social histories, as well as history of present illness or concern
  3. Performs physical examinations and determines appropriate clinical laboratory tests and/or diagnostic imaging, clinical laboratory tests, or referrals to specialty care, if indicated
  4. Interprets examination findings, diagnostic and test results, and implements appropriate treatment plans
  5. Dispenses medications from in-house formulary, when appropriate; otherwise, electronically transmit prescriptions to pharmacies
  6. Reviews case histories from outside providers and specialists and enters information in EMR
  7. Provides continuing, comprehensive health maintenance and medical care to the entire family unit, to include preventive medicine and community health
  8. Performs minor surgery, e.g. laceration repair, skin biopsy, lesion removals
  9. Determines need for consultation with specialists and assists in medical care treatment provided at the direction of other specialists
  10. Completes documentation of patient information in the electronic medical record with sufficient completeness to assure continuity of care where more than one provider may be involved in the patient’s care
Requirements:
  1. Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant program
  2. Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license in CA
Schedule:

Full time or Part time (9:30am-5:30pm M-F)

Compensation:

$78/hr
