Job description

Summary:

Our Surgical and Trauma Critical Care team is growing! We are seeking a Physician Assistant (PA) to join our expanding and innovative team. In this position, the PA will work alongside Attending Physicians, Surgical critical care fellows, residents, and Advanced care providers including PA's and NPs managing complex and high acuity trauma and surgical inpatients in our trauma and surgical intensive care units.

Responsibilities:

  • Performing medical evaluations, treatment, follow-up and consultations for diverse critically ill trauma and surgical patients.
  • PAs will assist with consults and procedures
  • Delivering direct patient care as part of a collaborative patient care team, inclusive of residents and fellows.
  • Gaining a working competency of procedures inclusive of, but not limited to, central line placement/removal, insertion/removal of chest tubes, arterial lines, and bronchoscopy.
Qualifications:
  • Candidates must have current and active NCCPA board certification as a Physician Assistant.
  • Current and active NYS PA License, ACLS, and DEA required.
  • Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 2 years of experience as a practicing clinical PA with a focus in surgery, anesthesia, or critical care management or within a given subspecialty of critical care medicine. Highly motivated new graduates with interest are encouraged to apply.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills and demonstrate an ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
