Job summary

Care New England Health System (CNE) is seeking a Physician Assistant to support OR 1st assist duties and inpatient management at Kent Hospital, with occasional assignments at Women & Infants Hospital, based on scheduling needs.

The role emphasizes admissions, discharges, daily rounding, and bedside procedures such as NG tube placement and wound care, including wound VAC changes and I&D of abscesses.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Certified by NCCPA.
• Active Rhode Island PA license, CSR, and DEA license or eligible.
• OR 1st assist experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• OR 1st assist and inpatient management.
• Admissions, discharges, consults & daily rounding.
• Bedside procedures such as NG tube placement and wound care (wound VAC changes, I&D).
• Occasional assignments at Women & Infants Hospital based on scheduling needs.

Job Highlights

• Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts per week (6a - 6p, 6p - 6a) with possibility of one 12-hour or one 24-hour shifts.

• Rotational weekend and holiday shifts

• Enjoy working in general, bariatric, colorectal, vascular and thoracic surgery

• Job responsibilities include, OR 1st assist and inpatient management, admissions, discharges, consults & daily rounding

• Bedside procedures include NG tube placement, wound vac changes and I&D of abscesses

• The primary work location will be Kent Hospital, with occasional assignments at Women & Infants Hospital based on scheduling needs.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
