OrthoSouth is seeking a Physician Assistant to join our orthopedic team in the outpatient clinic. You will perform comprehensive patient assessments, support surgeons, and manage post-operative care.
Requires Master’s degree, PA-C, licenses in MS and TN, BLS/ACLS, and 1–2 years in orthopedics or related fields; strong exam skills and patient communication.
Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
Current and unrestricted PA-C certification.
Active state license as a Physician Assistant (or ability toobtain prior to start) in both Mississippi and Tennessee.
BLS and ACLS certification (required or obtained upon hire).
Minimum 1-2 years of experience in orthopedics, sports medicine,emergency medicine, or related specialty preferred.
Strong clinical assessment skills and familiarity with orthopedicprocedures and terminology.
Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient‑service skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced clinic with a steady patientvolume.
Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including medicalhistory, physical examination, and documentation.
Assist orthopedic surgeons with evaluation and management of both acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions.
Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as X-rays, MRIs, andlaboratory work within the PA’s scope of practice.
Provide patient education regarding diagnoses, treatment plans,post-operative care, and rehabilitation expectations.
Conduct wound checks, suture/staple removal, brace/orthoticfitting, and other minor clinical procedures.
Formulate and document treatment plans in the electronic medicalrecord (EMR) in accordance with organizational standards.
Manage end-of-day clinic flow, including closing patientencounters and ensuring all follow-up actions are clearly communicated.
Collaborate with clinical support staff to maintain a smooth andefficient evening clinic environment.
Support after-hours patient needs within scope and in alignmentwith organizational protocols.
Maintain compliance with all regulatory, licensing, andorganizational policies and procedures.
