Job summary

Chestnut Health is seeking a Physician Assistant to join our physiatry team in a collaborative, patient-centered environment focused on restoring function and independence. You will work with therapists, nurses, and other clinicians to create and implement rehabilitation plans for diverse patients.

Ideal candidates are actively licensed as a PA, eligible to work in the U.S., and have interest in PM&R. A DEA license is a plus, and orthopedic or nursing rehab experience is helpful.

Qualifications

  • Active PA license in the state of employment.
  • Eligible to work in the United States.
  • Current DEA license is a plus.
  • NCCPA certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with therapists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans for patients with diverse rehabilitation needs.
  • Conduct patient assessments, medical histories, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations to determine rehab goals.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans to optimize functional outcomes and independence.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, and educational activities to enhance clinical knowledge and skills.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of evaluations, treatments, progress notes, and discharge summaries in EMR.
  • Provide education and counseling to patients and families regarding rehabilitation and post-discharge care.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with therapists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans for patients with diverse rehabilitation needs.
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical histories, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations, to determine appropriate rehabilitation goals and interventions.
  • Monitor patient progress closely and adjust treatment plans as necessary to optimize functional outcomes and promote independence.
  • Participate actively in multidisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, and educational activities to enhance clinical knowledge and skills.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of initial evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries in electronic medical records systems.
  • Provide education and counseling to patients and their families regarding the rehabilitation process, expected outcomes, and post-discharge care.
Qualifications:
  • Actively licensed as a Physician Assistant in the state of employment
  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • Current Controlled Substance License is a plus
  • Current DEA license is a plus
  • Orthopedic clinical experience is nice to have
  • Physiatry clinical experience is nice to have
  • Skilled nursing clinical experience is nice to have
License/Certification:
  • Active NCCPA certification as a Certified Physician Assistant is a plus
