Job summary

Prismhr Hire seeks a Physician Assistant for a SeaTac clinic at 2425 S 200th St, SeaTac, WA 98198. Requires ARC-PA accredited PA program, active license, BLS, and 1+ year experience. You will collaborate with physicians, provide primary care, perform minor procedures, and oversee patient care.

The schedule is Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:00 PM, not to exceed 40 hours weekly or 120 days in two years. On-site position with drug screen and background check.

Qualifications

  • Must graduate from an ARC-PA accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Must hold an active, current PA license/registration in good standing in the U.S.
  • Must pass a drug screen and background check.
  • Minimum 1 year of applicable PA experience.
  • Provide two letters of reference.
  • Maintain current American Heart Association BLS Healthcare Provider certification.
  • Knowledge of medical equipment operation and infection control.
  • Ability to communicate with physicians, peers, inmates, and patients.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with staff physicians to plan, implement, and evaluate care.
  • Manage daily clinic operations and conduct daily sick visits.
  • Provide emergency services in the physician's absence and handle trauma care.
  • Perform minor procedures as directed (incision, drainage, suturing, nail care).
  • Prescribe medications and advise on interactions and effects.
  • Serve as the primary provider for routine evaluations and chronic care.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests and document findings.
  • Enter and maintain accurate information in medical records.

NEEDED: Physician Assistant
LOCATION: 2425 S 200th St, SeaTac, WA 98198
SCHEDULE:
  • Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM, 8 hours per day
  • Not to exceed 40 hours per week
  • Not to exceed 120 days within a two-year period
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must have graduated from a physician assistant educational program, accredited by the Accreditation Review Committee on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) or its predecessors, at a college, university, or educational institution that is accredited by an accrediting body or organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.
  • Must also possess an active, current, full, and unrestricted license or registration in good standing to practice as a Physician Assistant from a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
  • Must be able to pass a drug screening and law enforcement agency background check.
  • Must have at least 1 year of applicable experience as evidenced on their resume,
  • Must provide two (2) letters of reference
  • Must hold a current American Heart Association BLS Healthcare Provider certification.
  • Must possess knowledge of methods, techniques, and procedures to perform job activities on various types of medical equipment and automated systems.
  • Must also possess knowledge of safety principles and infection control in the patient care environment.
  • Possess the ability to relate and deal effectively with Physicians, peers, inmates, and others; and, to recognize, report, and record changes in patient's physical and emotional condition.
JOB DUTIES:
  • Works collaboratively with the staff physician(s) and consulting physician(s) in planning, instituting, evaluating and revising program plans; assists in determining conditions, resources and policies essential to delivery of health care services. Discriminates between normal and abnormal findings to recognize early stages of serious physical, emotional, or mental problems.
  • Incumbent manages the daily operation of the clinic and conducts daily sick call; which may also include securing health and developmental history from the patient, recording findings and making critical evaluations.
  • Provides a wide range of emergency services, in the absence of the physician, including primary care for trauma and life-saving procedures.
  • Performs minor surgical procedures such as incision and drainage; suturing of lacerations; removal of cysts; and removal/repair of ingrown toenails; after consultation with the physician.
  • Prescribes medications and treatment for illnesses. Prior to dispensing, must call attention to any synergistic, antagonistic and cumulative effects of the medications prescribed.
  • Serves as the primary provider for routine requests for evaluation of new complaints, for routine recurring visits for chronic illnesses, and emergencies when clinically indicated.
  • Establishes diagnostic impressions and requests appropriate diagnostic tests (e.g., laboratory, x-ray, visual acuity and electrocardiogram) and ability to interpret results and selected laboratory findings to include the following:
  • Clinical Laboratory - urinalysis, complete blood counts, staining and examination of smears for bacteria, blood glucose, audio hearing tests.
  • Radiology - preliminary interpretation of radiographs to identify gross abnormalities such as fractures, etc.
  • Optometry - screening for distance and near vision by use of charts and visual screening machines.
  • Electrocardiograph Operations - operates electrocardiographic machine and has basic concepts of interpretation of the tracing to detect abnormalities.
  • Dental - able to perform screening dental examinations, charting and recognizing gross abnormalities of the gum and teeth by means of percussion and palpation and interpretation of dental radiographs.
  • Mental Health - capable of screening for gross mood change, disoriented patterns of behavior, or speech. Takes brief psychiatric, drug, and alcohol abuse history. General knowledge to identify a particular mental disorder such as depression or anxiety and provides emergency treatment and care.
  • Evaluates total health care needs of patients and develops plans to meet these needs. Makes decisions concerning medical care needs of the patient with the supervising physician. Assists the supervisory physician(s) in management of chronic health problems and assists the physician(s) in performing more exhaustive diagnosis and treatments. Teaches and demonstrates the application of good health practices to patients.
  • Will assist and work collaboratively with the physician in management of selected complex medical problems.
  • Make decisions concerning medical care needs of the patient with the physician, as well as decisions regarding special needs. May assist the physician in performing more exhaustive diagnosis and treatment.
  • Enters pertinent clinical information in medical records and must ensure data is current and legible.
  • May be assigned additional tasks related to the primary functions of this role.
