Job summary

Texas State University Health Services (UHS), a nationally accredited ambulatory health care facility serving more than 40,000 students, seeks a full-time Physician Assistant. You will provide high-quality, patient-centered care by assessing, diagnosing, and treating acute and chronic conditions, promoting wellness, and educating patients for healthy lifestyles.

The role involves collaboration with an interdisciplinary team in a college health setting with on-site laboratory and radiology

Qualifications

  • Current Texas Physician Assistant license in good standing.
  • Current NCCPA certification required.
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR).
  • Experience working in primary care setting or urgent care.
  • Current DEA registration (Preferred).
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support or Advanced Cardiac Life Support certificate (Preferred).
  • Experience using eClinical Works (Preferred).
  • Experience providing long-term contraception (LARC) devices (Preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Assess, diagnose, and treat acute and chronic health conditions.
  • Obtain health histories, perform physical examinations, and interpret diagnostic tests.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans, including medications and follow-up care.
  • Provide preventive care, health education, and patient counseling.
  • Coordinate referrals and collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers.
  • Supervise and support clinical staff while ensuring accurate documentation and quality patient care.
