Job summary

Chestnut Health seeks a Physician Assistant to join our Physiatry (PM&R) team in a patient‑centered, collaborative environment. You will participate in developing rehab plans, conducting comprehensive assessments, and promoting functional independence.

New graduates are encouraged to apply. Illinois PA licensure and related licenses are preferred and required on start date. No after-hours calls and a strong multidisciplinary team support your growth.

Qualifications

• Eligible to work in the United States.
• Illinois PA license preferred; DEA and CS licenses preferred on start date.
• NCCPA certification preferred.
• Interest in Physiatry/PM&R.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with therapists, nurses, and other professionals to develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans for patients with diverse rehabilitation needs.
• Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical histories, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations, to determine appropriate rehabilitation goals and interventions.
• Monitor patient progress closely and adjust treatment plans as necessary to optimize functional outcomes and promote independence.
• Participate actively in multidisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, and educational activities to enhance clinical knowledge and skills.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of initial evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries in electronic medical records systems.
• Provide education and counseling to patients and their families regarding the rehabilitation process, expected outcomes, and post-discharge care.

• Orthopedic Experience (nice to have)
• Physiatry Experience (nice to have)
• Skilled Nursing Experience (nice to have)

License/Certification:

• Certified Physician Assistant preferred
