Job Description

Please note: Effective October 1, 2025, the Ohio Department of Mental Health & Addiction Services has transitioned to its new name—the Ohio Department of Behavioral Health.

  • What you’ll do at DBH:

    • Provide services under the supervision of control of a licensed physician
    • Interviews patients and assist in performing examinations and treatment
    • Assist on rounds
    • Note progress of patients during therapy and examinations
    • Assist with development and making recommendations for changes in treatment plan
    • Reviews medical records
    • Works with other team para-professionals
    • Attend treatment teams & medical staff meetings, medical seminars and courses
    • Serve on various medical and agency committees

    This is an hourly position covered by the Ohio Health Care SEIU/1199 bargaining unit (union), with a pay range of $87,963 - $123,365.

Qualifications

Certificate of registration as physician's assistant issued by State Medical Board per Section 4730.03 & 4730.04 of Ohio Revised Code and have valid certificate to prescribe in accordance with ORC 4730.44.
