Job summary

U.S. Army Physician Assistants provide a broad range of diagnostic and therapeutic services for Soldiers and their families. They may perform full-spectrum medical care within their clinical privileges and advise on stabilization and transport needs.

Army PAs can pursue trainings, continued education, and leadership development while serving Active Duty or in the Army Reserve, with access to valuable benefits and career opportunities in Army Medicine.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited university.
• Must be certified by the National Commission for Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
• Must be a U.S. citizen to serve Active Duty.

U.S. Army Physician Assistants serve as versatile medical specialists across the full spectrum of Army medicine

As a Physician Assistant for the U.S. Army, you will provide a broad range of diagnostic and therapeutic services for Soldiers and their families. You may be asked to perform a full spectrum of medical care to Soldiers and their families within your given clinical privileges, as well as advising on the medical needs for stabilization and transportation of your patients. Through the Army, you will have the opportunity to attend trainings, continued education courses, seminars and conferences to broaden your knowledge and take the steps to be able to serve in any medical specialty.
