Job summary

OrthoArizona is seeking a Physician Assistant to join its orthopedic team. You will assess patients, review records, order tests, administer injections, and support physicians in delivering high-quality musculoskeletal care.

Ideal candidates have PA training and NCCPA certification, CPR, and familiarity with practice-management software. Orthopedic experience is preferred, and the role offers a collaborative, fast-growing environment.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program with state licensure.
  • Maintains CPR certification and NCCPA credentialing.
  • Experience in orthopedic settings is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage patient treatment schedules in consultation with physicians.
  • Obtain medical history and perform physical assessments.
  • Review and interpret patient records for appropriate care.
  • Order labs and diagnostic tests as needed.
  • Administer injections and medications per protocol.
  • Provide patient education and coordinate care with other staff.
  • Assist physicians and ensure continuity of care between visits.

As a Physician Assistant with OrthoArizona, you will get to:

  • Maintain a patient treatment schedule consistent with the needs of the Physician.
  • Obtain complete medical history and physical data on patients.
  • Review patient medical records.
  • Interpret and integrate data to determine appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as needed.
  • Perform complete physical exam and records findings.
  • Order appropriate lab and diagnostic procedures.
  • Administer injections and medications.
  • Advise patients regarding health and illness prevention.
  • Recommend community resources to help patient and family needs.
  • Instruct patient and family regarding medication and treatment procedures.
  • Assist physicians in recording patient progress.
  • Provide monitoring and continuity of care between physician visits.
  • Provide on call services on assigned basis.
  • Prioritize work activities based on clinical demands.
  • All other duties assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Working knowledge of computer programs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Complete and maintain HCP training.
  • Understand/Perform training on practice management software.
  • Continue to expand knowledge of practice management software as updates occur.
  • Follow all Standard Operating Procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Graduation from accredited Physician Assistant Program.
  • Certification from the National Commission on certification of Physician Assistants.
  • Maintain CPR certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2 years of Physician Assistant experience in a busy orthopedic practice.
