$123,077.00/yr - $400,000.00/yr
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. The program approval, award amount (up to $200,000), and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants are ineligible to apply.
The James J. Peters VA Medical Center is recruiting for a Full-Time Physician (Anesthesiology). The incumbent will be Board-Eligible or Board-Certified Physician (Anesthesiology) responsible for delivering care to patients enrolled at the James J Peters VA Medical Center or its community-based outpatient clinics. The Physician will provide team-based care supported by nursing, clerical staff, pharmacists, social workers, psychologists, and nutritionists.
The medical center is an academic tertiary care facility affiliated with the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and Vagelos School of Physicians and Surgeons at Columbia University. The anesthesia service supports up to 6 operating rooms, 2 Endoscopy suites, IR, and CT, covering various surgical and procedural specialties.
The Physician (Anesthesiology) will be responsible for peri-operative anesthetic care, ensuring compliance with standards, supervising staff, and providing consultation. Duties include pre-operative assessments, intraoperative monitoring, post-anesthesia care, documentation, and participating in program development. Call duties are required during nights and weekends.
