Job Summary:

Physician Anesthesiologists evaluate, monitor, and supervise patient care before, during, and after surgery, delivering anesthesia, leading the Anesthesia Care Team (MD/CRNA model), and ensuring optimal patient safety in a fast-paced ambulatory surgery practice. They specialize in anesthesia care, pain management, and critical care medicine. The ideal candidate is a dedicated team player with a strong work and training background.

Kelsey-Seybold Anesthesiologists treat children, adolescents, and adults at multiple locations across Houston. Procedures include general, orthopedic, endoscopy, plastics/reconstructive, ophthalmology, urology, gynecology, ENT, interventional radiology, sedation for pain procedures, and about 5% pediatric cases involving simple ENT procedures such as PE tubes, tonsillectomies, adenoidectomies, strabismus, and simple orthopedics. Patients are ASA 1 to 3. The role offers no call, weekends, or holidays, with an attractive salary and benefits.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Evaluate patients to determine an appropriate anesthetic plan.
  2. Determine and administer the correct dosage of anesthesia during procedures.
  3. Coordinate with doctors, nurses, technicians, and other healthcare professionals.
  4. Work collaboratively with the Anesthesia team, including CRNAs.
  5. Complete records detailing the type and amount of anesthesia, patient condition, response, and medical histories.
  6. Assess patient recovery and facilitate transfer to another room post-surgery.
  7. Order laboratory tests, diagnostic procedures, X-rays, and clinical tests.
  8. Collaborate effectively with referring physicians and other professionals to provide optimal patient care.
Experience:

Minimum of two years of experience as an Anesthesiologist in an acute hospital setting.

Education:

Graduate of an approved training program in the United States.

License and Certification:
  • Licensed in the State of Texas.
  • Current American Board of Anesthesiology certification.
  • ACLS and PALS certified.
