Trained to provide pain relief and maintenance or restoration of stable condition during and immediately following an operation or obstetric or diagnostic procedure. Provides medical management and consultation in pain management and critical care medicine. Diagnose and treat acute, ongoing and cancer pain problems; treat patients with critical illnesses or severe injuries; perform resuscitation for cardiac or respiratory emergencies, including artificial ventilation; supervise post‑anesthesia recovery.
