A leading healthcare provider seeks a Physician specializing in Aerospace Medicine at Fort Novosel, AL. The Army Aviation Warfighting Center, Fort Novosel (formerly Fort Rucker), Alabama, is located in the southeast corner of Alabama. The post is located in Dale County. Fort Novosel is approximately 80 miles south of Montgomery and 20 miles northwest of Dothan. Florida's Gulf Coast lies 80 miles to the south. The communities of Enterprise, Daleville, and Ozark are west, south and east of the post, respectively and serve as the three main gates. The post covers about 64,500 acres of countryside in an area known as the "Wiregrass," named for a wild grass peculiar to the region. The area is known for its lower cost of living, making it a prime target for real estate investments.

POSITION DUTIES: |
Works under the general professional direction of the Chief, Department of Primary Care or Chief, Department of Aviation Medicine; work is performed with considerable freedom from technical supervision. Consultation in a specialty area is available on request. The patient care duties involve the full range of requirements established by appropriate Army regulations and Army Health Clinic. Duties require recognizing cases which require referral or consultation with specialists. Quality assurance reports, various regulatory inspections, and the degree of patient satisfaction constitute review of work. |

Board Certified/Eligible
Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy from a school in the United States or Canada approved by a recognized accrediting body in the year of the applicants graduation. [A Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from a foreign medical school that provided education and medical knowledge substantially equivalent to accredited schools in the United States may be demonstrated by permanent certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) (or a fifth pathway certificate for Americans who completed premedical education in the United States and graduate education in a foreign country).
Candidates must have a permanent, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
