Job summary

Wellstar Health System is seeking a Physician Advisor for the Cobb Hospital to impact quality, utilization, patient satisfaction, and efficiency through performance improvement and education initiatives. The PA will collaborate with CMOs across WellStar facilities to optimize care pathways, documentation, and resource stewardship.

Qualifications

• Doctorate in medicine (DM/DO/MD) is required.
• MBA/MHA is preferred.
• 8–10 years of clinical experience required.
• 1–3 years of Utilization Management experience required.
• Board certification in specialty is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely consultation and clinical expertise to ensure fiscally responsible utilization of resources.
• Assist with level of care determination and length of stay management.
• Lead Readmission reduction initiatives with hospital leadership.
• Support denial management and appeals processes as needed.
• Collaborate with Care Coordination and Quality departments to improve pathways and documentation.
