Job summary

Wellstar Health System in Georgia seeks a Physician Advisor to influence quality, utilization, and patient outcomes through performance improvement and education initiatives. The PA will work with the Chief Medical Officer and Care Coordination to optimize care delivery and resource use.

Qualifications

• Doctorate in medicine (MD/DO) required and board certification preferred.
• MBA or Health Administration master’s degree preferred.
• 8–10 years of clinical experience; utilization management exposure.
• Strong communication and leadership to guide physicians and teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead utilization management and clinical documentation reviews to ensure appropriate care.
• Drive readmission reduction initiatives and throughputs with Care Coordination leadership.
• Collaborate with the CMO, hospital administration, and care teams on performance improvement.
• Provide guidance on medical necessity, level of care, and regulatory compliance.
• Mentor staff and participate in ongoing education on payer/utilization matters.
