Located in Towson, MD, the 180-bed tertiary complex care community hospital has more than 700 physicians on its medical staff across specialties including cardiology, cancer, orthopaedics, emergency care, obstetrics and gynaecology, and comprehensive tertiary level surgical services.

Role Overview

Full-time Physician Advisor to join the integrated Care Management team collaborating with executive leadership, clinical service chiefs, population health, access services, and health information management departments. The case management department supports a triad model where social workers and nurse care managers work together to ensure timely utilization review, integrated assessments and coordination of discharge planning needs.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as a physician advisor within the care management team.
  • Participate in utilization review, case management, quality assurance, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with social workers, nurse care managers, and other stakeholders to coordinate timely discharge planning and assessments.
  • Provide clinical support and recommendations for patient care decisions.
Qualifications
  • Doctorate degree in Medicine; board-certified physician.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of acute care practice.
  • Licensed MD or DO (valid license to practice in the State of Maryland).
  • Experience in Utilization Review, Case Management, Quality Assurance, or Performance Improvement processes preferred.
  • Computer skills required.
  • Certification through the American College of Physicians Advisors (ACPA) is preferred.
