Job summary

Sanford Health in Sioux Falls seeks a BE/BC Medical Geneticist to join a multidisciplinary team including clinical geneticists, APPs, and genetic counselors. The role emphasizes deploying pre-emptive genetic testing and innovative programs.

Academic appointment opportunities exist through Sanford School of Medicine, with a history of a joint Genetics Counseling program started in 2016. Applicants must have MD or DO and ABMG genetics board certification.

Qualifications

• MD or DO with board certification in clinical genetics (ABMG).
• Willingness to deploy pre-emptive genetic testing and innovative programs.
• Experience in adult genetics is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with clinical geneticists, advanced practice providers, and genetic counselors.
• Participate in multidisciplinary genetics program development and research opportunities.
• Provide expert medical genetics care and participate in academic appointments if applicable.

Practice Details

• Applicants with a variety of backgrounds are encouraged to apply, experience in adult genetics and IM or FM is preferred




• Minimum qualifications include MD or DO degree, BC in clinical genetics by the ABMG




• Applicants must be well versed and have a willingness to deploy pre-emptive genetic testing and other new and innovative genetic programs




• The multi-displinary team includes clinical geneticists, a molecular pathologist, moleculer laboratory geneticists, pharmacogenomics pharmacists, APP’s and genetic counselors




• Research opportunities available, if desired




• Academic Appointment available through Sanford School of Medicine, commensurate with experience




• Genetic Counseling Program started in 2016 with a joint effort between Sanford Health and Augustana University
